THE LITTLE PRINCE
The little prince is a photo-based installation exploring failed expectations and alienation. Drawing from his childhood dream of becoming an astronaut, Paluzzi reflects on nostalgia and unfulfilled ambitions. Revisiting his childhood bed, now smaller and unfamiliar, he confronts the passage of time and the weight of the past.
Central to the work is a self-portrait that references the original illustrations from The Little Prince, visually connecting the theme of childhood wonder with the disillusionment of adulthood. Like Saint-Exupéry’s protagonist, who travels from planet to planet seeking understanding, Paluzzi constructs seven fictive worlds in his work Homunculus. By incorporating personal images and videos, he reminds us that even at the edge of the universe, the past is never truly left behind—it is carried with us, shaping our perspective and journey, and embodying moments of longing, isolation, and self-reflection.
